We are proud to share that Victoria Mamza, Founder and CEO of Wangaraufoods, has been recognized among the Top 50 finalists in the Women Agripreneurs of the Year Awards (WAYA) 2025, selected from over 2,000 applications from across Africa.
This recognition celebrates both the personal leadership of Victoria Mamza and the impact of Wangaraufoods in:
- Empowering women and youth through training, mentorship, and job creation
- Expanding food access in underserved and vulnerable communities
- Championing sustainable agribusiness practices, including biodegradable packaging, refill models, and a transition to clean energy
While we did not advance to the final Top 20 this year, the feedback from the WAYA team has been invaluable. The judges commended our work and highlighted key areas to strengthen:
- Showcasing our innovations more clearly
- Maintaining clarity and consistency in application details
- Enhancing digital presence on our website and social media
- Providing stronger proof of concept through third-party validation such as awards, partnerships, and audited accounts
- Ensuring a clear category fit for award entries
- Offering more visual evidence of our products, operations, and impact
We embrace this feedback as a roadmap for growth. Our journey continues, and we are still under consideration for the WAYA Top 50 Accelerator, which offers the opportunity to strengthen leadership skills and connect with other inspiring women shaping Africa’s agrifood future.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to AGRA, the VALUE4HER team, and the WAYA 2025 committee for this honor, and to our customers, partners, and community for their continuous support.
This is not the end, it’s another step toward greater impact, for both Victoria Mamza and Wangaraufoods. The best is yet to come!
